The Dead Hate The Living: Halloween Kickball

The DEAD groaned their way past the LIVING this weekend, leaving a trail of guts behind them, as the costumed souls of Kickball-Rocks! had the second annual Halloween Kickball game. The DEAD took the lead early in the game as it looked like the LIVING lacked a pulse. Though they mounted a rally or two and even turned a costumed triple play (though at the end of it there then may have been four or five outs), they could not catch the steady flow of undead runs. Good thing these ghouls only come out once a year. Next week- regular noon thirty time.

And now.. the photos!

Kickball at ELC
The Farmers took on the Brightlighters (City Folk) in an away game at East Lake Commons. Perhaps due to the home field advantage the Farmers beat the City Dwellers 18-11. The record of the game perhaps goes for the best day for kickball- clear, warm, fall weather.

Here is an article titled "U.S. Kickballers: not exactly cut-throat competition." Clearly they haven't come to watch any of our games!

Anger spewed out over the kickball field today as team FURY took on team RAGE. After taking a commanding lead in the early innings, the FURY seemed more FURRY so their name was changed accordingly. The FURRIES then countered and RAGE found their name changed to (what best deciphering could tell) REGAL. After a few more spiffy innings, FURRY became FLURRY (snow) and had a flurry of runs scored to challenge, but in the end the SESAME BAGELS beat FLURRY 15-9 with the help of some early magic bases and stellar defense.

As one player commented afterwards "RAGE totally obliterated FURY"
How true.

NEXT WEEK: Away game @ East Lake Commons. Meet @ Candler Park normal time if you want to car-pool.

SUNDAY OCT 29th: HALLOWEEN KICKBALL Costumes, spookiness and kickball! Time TBD. Possible corn maze visit afterwards.

What a game! So close we tied! The possession of the lead changed at least 5 times in 7 innings. Greek Chorus took an early lead in the second inning but Passing Notes came back in the 3rd, 4th and 5th with some steady fielding and aggressive running. (Memebers of Passing Notes had been in band or chorus.) Magic base at the bench was back and in play driving up the score to a record 17-17. Amazing plays and disputed calls had everyone wishing for instant replay. All 13 people enjoyed the beautiful fall weather and new snocone flavors pinapple orange and blackberry were introduced.
The October kickball schedule was set and everyone is looking forward to Halloween kickball in costume!
